This wiki project was created to be an extension project for a 7th grade Georgia Social Studies class. The students worked together as a class to create a Wiki spaces page as a collection of various topics in Southwest Asia.
Essential Question:
Why is conflict likely when two or more religious factions occupy the same region? (H2b,c,d)
How does the presence or absence of oil influence political and economic decisions for a country? (H2c,d)
Why does the United States maintain a strong presence in the Middle East? (H2d)
Georgia Performance Standards:
SS7H2: The student will analyze continuity and change in Southwest Asia (Middle East)
c. Describe how land and religion are reasons for continuing conflicts in the Middle East.
d. Explain U.S. presence and interest in Southwest Asia; include the Persian Gulf conflict and invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq
Time Frame:
15 25 minute session, Could take less time in a standard classroom setting.

This project is differentiated based upon student choice and learning styles. This project could be leveled down to just a writing and no additional web tools.

3. Student have choice in which web 2.0 tools in which they incorporated.
